News: 2012 Woody Crops Meeting Attendees Represented Very Diverse Organizations

The 9th Biennial meeting of the Short Rotation Woody Crops Operations Working Group benefited greatly from a very diverse group of participants. Of the 82 people who attended the meeting, 20 individuals represented 14 different private sector groups with 4 headquartered outside of the US (Australia, Brazil, Mexico and the UK). There were 26 different academic groups represented including 1 Chinese Forestry Academy, 2 Canadian Universities, 1 British University, and 22 different US universities and colleges for a total of 39 individuals. The 23 government supported staff and researcher participants included U.S. Forest Service staff from several different locations, and several Oak Ridge National Laboratory Staff. A video of research on willows was also provided by two New Zealanders who wanted to participate but were unable to attend.
